things to consider
THE FOLLOWING THINGS TO CONSIDER WILL HELP US TO MATURE IN THE LORD.
a. Diligently read His word and seek His will for our lives. Hebrews 11:6 states, "......and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him. As we read His word and seek His will, our lives will be transformed. Romans 12:2 tells us, “And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.”
b. Examine our lives to make sure the transformation to the image of Christ is taking place. Paul the Apostle says in 2 Corth. 13:5 “Examine yourselves as to whether you are in the faith. Test yourselves. Do you not know yourselves, that Jesus Christ is in you?--unless indeed you are disqualified. Also Paul states in 1 Corth. 9:27, “But I discipline my body and bring it into subjection, lest, when I have preached to others, I myself should become disqualified.
c. Keep short accounts with the Lord by consistently acknowledging our sins before Him. We should also examine our actions and thoughts before the Lord to make sure that we are adhering to scriptures. Our lives should be a walking testimony.
d. Learn and adhere to the essential doctrines of the Christian faith which demand unity in the body of Christ. But we should exhibit liberty and charity in regards to the non-essentials of the Christian faith which do not demand unity in the body of Christ. Also if a different view on a non- essential aligns more closely to scripture, we should be willing to change our view even if it comes with a cost.

These GOLDEN NUGGETS are things that have helped me to MATURE in the Lord.
1. As Matthew 7:5 tells us, First take the log out of our own eye, to be able to clearly see to take the speck out of your brother's eye.
2. Remember the things that appear small like giving someone a cup of cold water, giving someone an encouraging word or being a good listener. Per Matthew 10:42 - And whoever gives one of these little ones even a cup of cold water because he is a disciple, truly, I say to you, he will by no means lose his reward.
3. Although we know that Christ on the cross paid for our past, present, and future sins keep short accounts with God. When you stumble, immediately ask for forgiveness and continue on the road of holiness.
4. Be like a Berean and study the scriptures.
5. Always match everything you hear, see, and feel in light of scripture.
6. Seek a prayer partner, someone who is like minded and is interested in maturing in the Lord and pray on a consistent basis.
